It must have been a full moon;
last night Dianne typed (heart) u!
Can anyone believe that?
(my sudden fear) Is she ill?
Delirious with fever?
It might be something she ate.
We've only known each other
two years, three months and two weeks.
This outburst is so sudden!
On our first date she chased me
seventy five miles an hour
for thirty miles to Smithfield.
Brown eyes lively as we talked,
their sparkles threw lightning bolts
which my heart's catchers mitt caught.
Her hand clutched mine to her cheek
in death grip, later moaning
as I kissed her face and neck.
Whether she knew it or not,
her actions had told me then.
Maybe ( I dare not think this)
she will actually say
the honest to goodness
words after we're married ten
years and she realizes
"I Love You" won't transform her
into a pillar of salt.
