 a roll in clover(almost)

She floats in beauty

on size 10 gunboats,

paddlewheels ponderously punctuating procession

through a wake of disenchanted dream bettors.

A husband's indiscretion

makes bars and chatrooms her obcession.

She coyly accepts men's praise cigarettes

inhaling the praise,

exhaling the responsibility.

Her knight in shining armor

is a tarnished warrior

who enhances his image

with poetry aided  mirrors.

She is his and he is hers eternally

but he will never leave his family

(the children's sake u understand).

O WHAT CHIVALRY!

She sits in front of the computer

awaiting her hero's return.

Cellulite invading a once firm body,

her vein strewn cheeks squinting at the monitor,

keyboard cacophony reminiscent of needles

noisily knitting the emperor's new clothes.
