              1

Narrow twisting roads

Numerous turns

Wrong turns

Barren fields

Crumbling buildings

Shotgun shacks

One horse towns

Blacks slapping five

Men drinking from brown paper sacks

An elderly woman with  walker sundials up the street

Desolation in despair's clothes living in a vacuum.

The door opens; IT'S HER!

Small end of nothing carved to an exquisite point

Luxurious hair

Ruddy cheeks

Winning smile

Lusty laughter

Tantalizing configuration of sharp and smooth curves

(Fantacizing about dwelling along her roadside)

Witty conversation

Shared confidences

Poof! Rendezvous terminated

Reality hits before screen door slams

Horrible thought strikes on road home

Apex and nadir of relationship in one visit?

Son of horrible thought:

Cut off engine

Open hood

Peer in with flashlight (uh-oh)

Driven God knows how many miles WITHOUT OIL CAP!

In freezing stillness

A train whistles;

The devil cackles insanely
