Outrighted
An optioning is rough enough,
but outrighting's extremely tough-
that option just might be picked up someday.
Outrighting means you've been sent down
to some backwater jerkweed town
where even if your bat goes wild you'll stay.
Those facts would not be mentioned here-
except the one who called me dear
outrighted me with no undue delay.
She yelled (while in a raging snit)
it didn't matter what I hit!
So long-Good bye-Farewell-Don't WRITE-A M S C R A Y!
And though I tried to make her see
she needed an old vet like me,
no argument could make this lady sway.
My contract's headed where it's hot-
that should speed up my swing a lot-
but which league's Straighttahell in, anyway?
